Viktor Tarnavskii

Hi, I'm Viktor Tarnavskii, and I'm looking for co‑founders in London.

About me

I'm a tech person with 15 years of experience.

My background and the start of my career were in chip design. I spent 10 years at Yandex as an engineer and technical manager. Among other things, I led Yandex Metrica and AppMetrica — web analytics used by millions of sites — and built Yango Deli, a quick-commerce grocery delivery service, as CTO & CPO.

For the last 3.5 years, I was Head of AI at Tinkoff Bank / T-Bank, the second-largest fintech in Russia by customers. I was responsible for AI end to end: research, models, platform, products, and business results. We were generating hundreds of millions of dollars in business impact every year.

Don't think of me as a manager of hundreds of people, though. I like building things myself, I still actively build, and I want to do more of that. This is the time for small, strong teams.

Beyond technology, I'm good at communicating, speaking publicly, and leading people. I also have a pretty strong network among engineers.

If you want references, I'm happy to provide them.

What I'm looking for

I'm interested in industries where the product itself is complex intellectual work: AEC / construction, product and industrial design & engineering, legal services, tax advisory, etc.

There is a huge amount of inefficiency in these industries, and AI can make the end product dramatically better. At the same time, they have a lot of defensibility: deep domain expertise, proprietary data, trust, long-term contracts, etc.

I want to build a company in one of these areas.

I'm looking for co-founders from these industries, with deep experience and strong networks — people who have the domain expertise and can own go-to-market. I'm ready to own technology and can own product as well. But I'm happy to do whatever else is needed too — I'll order the pizza.

The model can be SaaS, an AI-enabled services company, or a roll-up — that part isn't too important to me.

I'm also open to joining an early-stage company that has already found some product-market fit and is starting to scale, but lacks deep technology expertise.

I'll rule out a few industries straight away: fintech, gamedev, iGaming, and sales/marketing/support automation.

I'll also rule out roles in already established companies with 300+ people.

Details

I'm based in London and plan to stay here. Ideally, you're here too. I like working from an office. Visa: Global Talent Visa / Exceptional Talent.

I'm fine with either bootstrapping or venture. What matters is the size of the opportunity.

I'd like to build for the UK/EU/US markets.
